Cisco earnings could quell or reignite tech fears
Cisco is changing its degree of network engineer to match a series of technological advances in the industry.
Learning Company network updated the Cisco Certified Network Associate certification (CCNA) for routing and switching for the first time since 2013.
Version 3.0 certification is intended for network changes that resulted from the growing trend analysis, automation, virtualization, programmability and cloud management service.
"The evolution of the industry," said Tejas Vashi, director of product strategy and marketing for Cisco Learning. "New skills are needed, and therefore our certification must remain aligned with the actual skills of the work of this job in industry."
The executives behind the upgrade certification told channel partners that changes mark a change in time: from manual focusing device "information age" to the network, constantly adapting network "digital ready" based on analysis.
"Digitization is driving the need for change. Evolution requires a new infrastructure technology, which requires new skills, "Vashi said. "For channel partners to be very successful, they have to understand that these types of changes are because that is the biggest concern for customers today."
Cisco presented a long list of questions that have been added or deleted related examinations.
"What that means a layer that provides automation directly from the application down into the virtualization layer is added and infrastructure," said Antonella Corno, Cisco Learning Product Manager.
Vashi said one of the pre-upgrade trend is the Internet of Things (IoT) and the consequent increase of the endpoints.
"Every time you add new endpoints is added security vulnerabilities. So you need to ensure not only the network infrastructure, but the actual network from end to end, "he said.
Vashi promotes the important work of the network infrastructure, and said it expected to increase by 96,600 new positions - an increase of 31 percent - between now and 2024.
"This role is very critical as it evolves network because they are not only network management - that is, the traditional definition of a router and a switch-based infrastructure - but now you have to consider by software analysis, dynamic evolution of different traffic flows, "he said.
Vashi said last update helps partners have with the demands of their industry and improve their relationships with end-users taking more of an advisory role.
"They can continue to understand and align with customer needs, and not just pushing boxes or pushing solutions, but actually be able to be consultants in their business," he said.
